Stephen will be participating in Le Cure 2024 and will attempt to cycle 386 kilometers and climb 10,413 vertical metres.
Since starting Le Cure, Stephen has cycled the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest 2.16 times, and cycled around the m25 4.81 times! That's 19,094 vertical metres and 903 kilometres.
In 2021, Stephen cycled a Camino route, the Voie de Tours, from Paris to the Spanish border, 1000 kilometers in 10 days. And more recently, in March 2022, he bike-packed unsupported, 850 kms of the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to Los Angeles, with fellow Curista, Sean Perry, and a few other intrepid souls.
Failing/not finishing!!
I enjoy challenges and Le Cure appears to be all that. More importantly, I have experienced enough loss to know that cancer sucks. Father, uncle, dear friends, and stellar colleagues gone; but a sister, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and an equal number of dear friends and colleagues still surviving due to ongoing research and new treatments. Besides, finding cures for cancers is a lot more challenging than riding 443km and 9,345m of vertical in four days, so let's get on with it!
