Richard will be participating in Le Cure 2026 and will attempt to cycle 397 kilometers and climb 10,059 vertical metres.

Cycling Experience:

I have cycled since I was 14, having lived in the Yorkshire dales during my teens what better place to fall in love with Cycling. I had gaps in my cycling to concentrate on raising a family but once my boys were old enough I was back on the bike then discovered a local friendly club in Twickenham ( St Margarets CC) and have been a member since 2015 enjoying twice weekly rides into the Surrey Hills etc as well as many organised trips, Pyrenees, Mallorca 312, Etape etc. and returning to the Dales.

Biggest Fear:

Crashing. Have had a few incidents in the past, generally out of my control. although feel confident cycling with other experienced riders.

Reason For Doing This:

Having cycled in the Alps previously, I am really looking forward to climbing (and descending) some of the iconic climbs. Also, having participated in fundraising events in the past, I could not resist this immense challenge for such a great cause.
