  • Vétéran

Since starting Le Cure, Matt has cycled the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest 7.97 times, and cycled around the m25 12.48 times! That's 70,503 vertical metres and 2,346 kilometres.

Unbelievably I am a 5 year veteran, which proves that anyone can do this if you have a) strong enough legs or b) are a fitness freak. I am definitely in the former category. The problem with cycling however , is that it sucks you in and you find yourself caught in the trap of wanting new stash and a better bike ever year....

Le Cure Highlight:

Seeing just how red Poots’ face is at the top of each mountain. That and the post ride beers each day...curista camaraderie!

Toughest Moment:

A freezing cold climb in 2017..... or climbing the Telegraph and the Galibier in the same day.... or near 40 degree heat climbing up the start of bloody Alpe d’Huez again....

Top Tip

Find someone your own pace and ride with them - it makes it easier if you can chat to someone on the way up - you will be riding for a long time each day. However if said person is Poots you need to have a word with yourself and accelerate....
