Matt will be participating in Le Cure 2023 and will attempt to cycle 438 kilometers and climb 8,831 vertical metres.
Since starting Le Cure, Matt has cycled the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest 11.81 times, and cycled around the m25 19.10 times! That's 104,460 vertical metres and 3,591 kilometres.
I don't like climbing up mountains, but the Prof makes a very good case as to why it is important to do so!
Knowing that there are only 2 more Le Cures left until retirement…..that and the post ride beers each day...Curista camaraderie!
Four seasons in one day climbing the Telegraph and the Galibier in 2019 ....... or the near 40 degree heat climbing up the start of bloody Alpe d’Huez every bloody year!
Find someone your own pace and ride with them - it makes it easier if you can chat to someone on the way up - you will be riding for a long time each day. Also worth downloading some podcasts to listen to out of one ear in case you do end up on your own! Finally, under no circumstances believe Paddy when he says that a daily dose of Green Chartreuse is mandatory....
