Since starting Le Cure, Mark has cycled the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest 1.02 times, and cycled around the m25 2.40 times! That's 9,060 vertical metres and 451 kilometres.

Cycling Experience:

My first bike was a modified hand-me-down Scwhinn Sting Ray. Rode it all the time. Got my first legit road bike in 2006 when I started riding with co-workers at lunchtime and weekend rides with friends. Eventually I started doing multi-day supported rides, mostly in Colorado. Biggest trip was a self-supported ride down the Oregon coast to San Francisco. Wow! Peppered in some group MTB rides in Utah's magical canyon country too. More rides to come!

Biggest Fear:

Sharing the narrow mountain roads with cars and motos!

Reason For Doing This:

I want to ride in the Alps, but I want to do it for a purpose other than just my own enjoyment. A friend of mine rode the tour last year and I learned not just about the ride but about the Le Cure charity and the work they're doing with breast cancer research and patients. What a great way to spend four days of riding and a great group of generous, like-minded people to do it with. And... I'll be in the Alps!
