Mark will be participating in Le Cure 2026 and will attempt to cycle 397 kilometers and climb 10,059 vertical metres.
Since starting Le Cure, Mark has cycled the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest 6.41 times, and cycled around the m25 10.74 times! That's 56,684 vertical metres and 2,019 kilometres.
Le Cure is an extraordinary event and to be returning to it after a four year break is super exciting. Riding in the high mountains is inspirational in its own right but to be doing it alongside so many wonderful people with a common goal makes it all the more worthwhile. The camaraderie, the banter, the laughs, the tears and sheer struggle of it all define this event, especially when you stop and think about the difference you're making in the fight against breast cancer.
The cold at the top of the Iseran in 2018 and the Izoard the year before and knowing you've got to descend in the cold and wet!!
There are two tips: Firstly, eat before you need it......fuelling is key. Secondly, proper clothing and remember you can always take something off if you're too warm but if you're cold and haven't got the right clothing you're in trouble!!
