Since starting Le Cure, Mark has cycled the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest 3.73 times, and cycled around the m25 6.61 times! That's 32,983 vertical metres and 1,243 kilometres.

Middle aged accountant who really shouldn't be seen in public wearing lycra

Le Cure Highlight:

The feeling of camaraderie especially at the end of the trip, as we cycled in to Cervinia, with the Matterhorn in the background. The team were great as you get clapped in by those already in the bar and cheering those home after you, especially Derrick and Louise.

Toughest Moment:

Other than not taking a down jacket that was on the kit list and realising the top of mountains can get quite cold, then it has to be the non-stop rain on the afternoon of stage 2, 2020 and then more rain on the morning of stage 3. Wringing out your overshoes at the lunch stop of day 3 was a low point.

Top Tip

Don't eat out of date gels, but more importantly don't be downwind of someone who has. Also, why would you eat gels when you can eat jelly babies.............. more seriously (other than taking a down jacket) a top tube bag to have easy access to food, rather than searching in jersey pockets.
