  • Vétéran

Jon will be participating in Le Cure 2022 and will attempt to cycle 453 kilometers and climb 10,034 vertical metres.

Since starting Le Cure, Jon has cycled the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest 5.27 times, and cycled around the m25 8.33 times! That's 46,650 vertical metres and 1,566 kilometres.

Le Cure Highlight:

Climbing and descending iconic TDF mountains and the camaraderie, all to fund promising research efforts by the Royal Marsden team.

Toughest Moment:

Many - the bad weather on Iseran(2018), the last 500m (@20%) of Bonnette (2017), saddle sores going up Glandon (2018) and the hangover after the all night disco in Sestriere (2017). Just adds to the experience.

Top Tip

Sounds obvious - do some training - esp long group rides, a fun way to get fitter. Eat and drink a lot (on the bike) - to avoid bonking. Ride in small groups for companionship (though conversation can be limited on 15% gradients!).

Jon's awards:

Cols Jon will be climbing in the upcoming Le Cure event:
