Since starting Le Cure, Amanda has cycled the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest 6.69 times, and cycled around the m25 10.47 times! That's 59,187 vertical metres and 1,968 kilometres.

I am taking part in Le Cure to keep raising awareness of the horrors of cancer but also the wonders that can be achieved through medical research and the resulting treatments. It is a tough challenge but made easier by the amazing people keeping you company on the roads.

Le Cure Highlight:

Too many to name. Lovely chats up long climbs, meeting amazing people with their own stories and motivations, the stunning climbs. Oh yes, 40km of descent last year was pretty epic. :)

Toughest Moment:

Rose tinted glasses make these disappear fairly quickly, but there have definitely been some tough moments on the hills. The cold is a constant battle for me, so as long as the sun is shining, I'm happy.

Top Tip

The joy is in the company. If you are a speed demon, take time to ride with, and encourage, the slower curistas, even for a few km, it will be appreciated. If you are more of a plodder, then take it slow and easy, the days are long but we all get there in the end.
