Le Cure 2026 is dedicated to the memory of Vicky Prynn, a wonderful, vivacious and immensely kind woman who dedicated her life to helping others and who died from breast cancer on 4 April 2026 aged 52.
Vicky was born and raised in Falkirk, Scotland. Having studied medicine at Cambridge, Vicky spent most of her working life as an NHS doctor, with breaks to undertake research in Sydney, to work for MSF in Myanmar and to complete a PHd in Johannesburg South Africa. Before her illness she was working as an Infectious Diseases consultant at the Hospital For Tropical Diseases (UCLH) in London and was running a distance learning HIV masters at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Vicky married Ben in 2014 and together they had two daughters – Isobel (born 2015) and Chloe (born 2019).
Vicky was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2024.
